Nathaniel Jones Park

Construction has begun on the 20-acre Nathaniel Jones Park in the northwest part of Mountain's Edge off of Mountain's Edge Parkway between Durango Drive and El Capitan Way.  This community park will feature great family amenities along with turf areas and walking trails.

In keeping with the Mountain's Edge tradition of honoring early Las Vegas Valley pioneers, the park is named for the supervisor of one of the region's first large-scale projects.  When lead and silver reserves were discovered at nearby Potosi Mountain, Nathaniel Jones was sent by Brigham Young to oversee a mining operation in conjunction with the creation of a nearby Mormon outpost and fort in 18
